I am in an interesting place right now in my career. I feel stuck in the middle of many things….. Pocketman and Cargoboy: The Rise of Sir Longbottom has not been released yet, and filming for the third film of the trilogy is slated to start sometime in the next 6-9 months. I won’t turn 18 until January, which makes finding roles difficult even in a normal market because often times there are a significant amount of 18 to play younger roles that don’t require an on set teacher. Now COVID has put an extra layer of difficulty into the mix because many productions have been halted, slowed or have been cancelled as a result of the pandemic. It doesn’t appear COVID is going away anytime in the immediate future.
Life has moved into a more virtual realm and school, meetings and even auditions have primarily turned to online procedures. While I miss the in person communication and meetings, I have been used to auditioning via self tape (since most of the work currently fit for me is for independent films and ULB SAG productions.) I have a filming room in my house that makes it easy for me to do self tape auditions. I have been seeing more and more roles posted across the different platforms and have been asked to audition for productions more recently.
I am thankful for the opportunities and am looking forward to getting back to work soon. I am also looking forward to turning 18 so that I have the chance to audition for so many more roles that are just out of my reach right now.
Stay safe, stay healthy and most importantly… stay connected.
